The summer semester has begun! Which means we're officially in pre-production (though technically we've been making headway for quite a while already). With the website up and running, we'll add to our bible and inspiration pages regularly, though posts here on the blog will be limited to recaps when we've made significant progress.
As of right now, we've gotten all the heavy lifting out of the way as far as story goes. Apol was extraordinarily dedicated to hammering out the concept during the past semester (or two), and thanks in large parts to her efforts in bringing the team together and making contacts among the faculty, we've been able to dive right into the project we've tentatively titled "Rise." Character and environment planning are falling into place, and everyone's involved in design work and reference collection. On the technical side, Howard is ready to start running lighting tests, and we're looking forward to exploring a number of new-to-us programs that might be of use in terms of modeling, texturing, rendering, and 2D animation.
We're all very excited to see where this project will take us!
Lastly, thanks to James Maher, who granted us permission to use his photo "Graffiti, Manhattan Bridge, New York City, 2013" as our temporary header.
